Backing the Chiefs
In rugby, we love to get behind our local team, the Gallagher Chiefs, who we support with First Windows and Doors. Among many initiatives, First Catch sees young rugby fans on the field at half-time to throw supporter balls to the crowd; and our Ultimate Experience Campaign offers lucky fans an opportunity for an exclusive encounter with key members of the Chiefs.
A “fantastic partnership” with hockey
It's a similar story in hockey, where we’re the naming rights sponsor of the Vantage Black Sticks and principal partner of Hockey New Zealand, supporting our top players to success. We also help nurture the growth of participation in the sport, creating unique experiences where budding talent can learn from the country’s best. “It’s a fantastic partnership and integral to taking our teams to the world and growing our game" says Hockey New Zealand CEO Anthony Crummy.
Likewise for cycling, APL are principal sponsors of Cycling New Zealand and The Home of Cycling velodrome in Cambridge. Vantage is the naming rights sponsor of the National Championship schedule in track and road events, and support the Vantage Elite Road and Track team. We also offer opportunities for aspiring cyclists to meet and train with New Zealand’s best.
Nothing but net
The newest member of the APL sponsorship family, the Silver Ferns and Netball New Zealand recently welcomed Altherm as a major partner. Netball is well-engrained in the sporting culture in New Zealand, being the number 1 sport for women. Teamwork, leadership and authenticity are the values that we think are pretty well aligned between the Silver Ferns and Altherm, the ideal match-up!
We have put our weight behind a handful of talented individuals in a variety of motorsport. Two-time Le Mans 24 Hour winner Brendon Hartley is among them; we also back Emma Gilmour, acknowledged as one of the world’s fastest female rally drivers, and multiple national champion rally driver Ben Hunt. In Motocross, Altherm sponsors the legend of New Zealand motocross - Josh Coppins - and his talented racing team.
